A friend once quipped that I’m one part rock, one part delicate flower — which is, in fact, pretty accurate. I had to learn to identify and value both my strengths and my vulnerable areas, and discover how to protect and compensate for those vulnerabilities if necessary. (Sometimes vulnerability is a good thing, other times not — and it’s not always easy to tell the difference). I can help you learn those things as well. With that in mind, here are some areas my clients choose to work on:

I can help you recognize and understand your triggers and use that knowledge to find delicious, healthier alternatives. For example, learn what makes a meal tastier and healthier and how to scan a nutrition label to determine if you truly want to buy and eat a food.

  • Are you hoping to minimize the likelihood of getting a runs-in-the-family disease?

Genetics are strong, but they’re not the only factor. You play a part. I can help you see how, including learning how to choose products that are kind to both your body and the planet.

  • Do you feel out of balance but aren’t sure why?

Learn, among other things, to recognize what you're truly feeling (which is harder than most people realize), how to develop your conflict-resolution skills and how to ground yourself when you're stressed.

THE PROCESS:

I’m extremely good at delving, gently. (I spent 20+ years as a journalist, honing my delving and solving skills, interviewing and writing numerous personality profiles.) I research deeply, have an unusually good memory and feel a glow when I help people. Truly. Here’s an outline of what we’ll do:

  • We talk, to get a feel for what a pleasurable, happy life means to you and where you're having difficulty.

  • Your concerns might include: your relationship with food; your work-life balance; your environment. Perhaps you want to fit self-care into your life without feeling guilty. Or develop an idea that's been hovering in the back of your mind, or a long-lost passion.

  • We work together to figure out what obstacles are getting in your way and determine concrete steps to address them. You’ll get my in-depth Client Workbook, filled with fun, unexpected, illuminating questions. Your answers to those questions can uncover insights about your Why’s, which go a long way towards helping you change course for the better.

  • Since the best way to make a lasting change is by increments, we design a plan that doesn't leave you feeling deprived or overwhelmed. Small successes lead to big improvements.

  • We monitor your progress and fine-tune. And you get ever closer to a better-balanced, more pleasurable life.
